There are a few things to consider when thinking about university: the course and which university you should go to.

The Course

What course should I do?

Universities offer a whole range of courses and it's important that you choose a course you are interested in and that you enjoy. University open days are a great place to find out about more about courses, and often you'll get to speak to current students about their experiences and lecturers about the content of the course.

The university

One of the most important things to do when choosing a university is to visit the university and the town/city it is in; you'll be living there for three years (or more) so you need to make sure you'll enjoy it!

Open days are a great place to start. You'll have the opportunity to look around the university campus and check out what the accommodation is like.

University isn't just about education … there's a huge social aspect to university. When choosing a university, you should look at the societies, facilities and sports. You may also want to check out what the nightlife is like.
